Hi Jimmy, C64 HOM has been recently purchased by my friend Adam Shaw who works for Brighton and Hove. He purchased the Lynx as he wants to convert it into a mobile museum for the history of Brighton Blue Bus/ Tram Ways as theyve recently found a load of old documents and interesting stuff within there Brighton Lewes Road depot. The bus will have various items and stuff displayed inside it and will attend ralliies. The bus is also going to be painted into Brighton Blue bus livery. The reason im emailing you is because ive seen you have this picture of the bus and ive made a fotopic for this project and have a collection about the buses life and id appreciate if i could use your photo(s) for it. I dont mind if you have your copyrights as after all it is your work. Kindest Regards Aaron Rumney

Fortunatley for us this Shed has now departed. Then Stagecoach got 5 more. Which to put one way 27510 is the worse. Also just to point out on GNE 4977, you can see the rear end sagging in this photo http://gjmbusrallies.fotopic.net/p22532451.html . Are you going to the Metrocentre Rally this year? You may get to sample the partypoppers (Designlines) on the Quaylink and the sheds (Enviro 300) on the 100. Gazz

THIS PICTURE SHOWS THE REASON WHY PUBLIC TRANSPORT IS NOT LIKED AND SAID TO BE UNRELIABLE. THE CLOGGING UP OF ROAD BY OTHER ROAD USERS CAUSE TRAFFIC DELAYS AND PREVENT FAST, DIRECT ROUTE FOR BUSES TO RUN THROUGH. IF EVERYBODY THAT HAS A DRIVEWAY OR CAR PARK AVAILABLE USED IT THEN IT WOULD OFFER ALOT OF EXTRA ROAD SPACE TO BE USED BY THE VEHICLES ON THE ROAD. ALSO IF A FEW PEOPLE FROM EVERY PLACE OF EMPLOYEMENT CHANGE TO PUBLIC TRANSPORT FROM THE CAR THEN IT WOULD MEAN VAST NUMBERS OF LESS CARS ON THE ROAD. EVERYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN BUSES SHOULD ENCOURAGE FRIENDS, FAMILY, WORK COLLEGUES, ETC TO TRAVEL TO WORK, SOCIAL, SHOPS BY BUS OR OTHER PUBLIC TRANSPORT AND LEAVE THE CAR. IF THE ROADS KEEP GETTING CLOGGED UP THEN THE BUS WILL DIE. NOBODY WILL USE IT.

The Route-Master has kept going for over 50 years. With the RT-type it has served London very well indeed. Together both types have accumulated over 90 years service! The design is very hard to beat.Route-Masters were larger than RTs.Route-Masters were able to carry upto 72 people the RTs only managed 56.However you look at it together they made a splendid sight.

The Automatic Fare Collection equipment was done away with in 1979. It sometimes caused more problems than it solved. It took up 4 seats and on buses like Metrobuses or Titans ,it was replaced by a bench seat.

It was not just an ordinary bus,V3 was unique. The unions hated it and made it almost impossible to use in service. The door at the rear makes sense if you consider it had 2 staircases, maybe that's what we need today as opposed to bendy buses that catch fire!

I guess in time the modern buses will become classics, just in the same way that Metrobuses and Titans have done. it's probably fair to say that nothing will ever match The Routemaster, but the Metrobuses and Titans were a part of London for over 20 years and they are in some cases still represented around the capital. The DMS was not such a hit in London, but was popular elsewhere. Some examples were used for sightseeing but sadly they are becoming rarer. Nice pictures!

Hi there, love this photo of 19300, both the grey Enviro's in Cambridge are really difficult to get because they are used only as spares although one of them has been on trial runs on the X9 (Cambridge - Wisbech). I have several photo's of buses in the region as well (http://www.st-transport.fpic.net) and i'll be adding your site to the links. Keep up the great work Steve

Jimmy, re your picture of Metrobus' 959 on the 119 at Croydon. Your picture caption has the wrong registration, I know at times it's hard to tell D from O but the registration is actually YT59 DYB not YT59 OYB.

Canada Water is a good example of a bus station. Only wish there were more routes to it.

Any idea why this bus was on this route? I thought the EVLs were being sold or sent up north.

Wow, it looks brand-new. Must be one the oldest low-floor double decks still in London, only ones I know are old are the DLAs at Arriva London South!
